We just saw The Great Mouse Detective, which was utterly delightful. Mouse Steampunk! Overkill Dastardly Plans! Musical numbers that are in-character musical numbers!
And, we've now finished the first season of Veronica Mars. Wow. I gather that the second season is less good, but I think we'll start working our way through it, if only to find out how some things that weren't wrapped first season turn out. Said things do not include the central mystery, I am happy to say, and, for us, at least, all the pieces fit with a satisfying click. This had the effect I very much want to achieve as I'm running Eternal Lies (for Trail of Cthulhu): I totally did not see the answer coming, but when it came, it was perfect. The build up was there. The authors played fair. And I never had a chance to solve it. THIS is what I want to give my players.
