mneme and I are doing the same crazy travel that we did last year. That is, we are catching a train around 3 or 4 am on Sunday night / Monday morning from Baltimore Penn Station. Last year, it was pointed out to us that if we let folks know in advance, it might be easier to make certain travel arrangements.
That said, I suspect we shall still have to do something like, oh, spend a couple of hours in a Korean restaurant near the train station when the station closes for cleaning (somewhere in the 1 am - 3 am period). Presuming the same restaurants are open the same hours, this shouldn't be too much of a hardship. And, if need be, we can do the "spend many hours in the train station, with a Korean food break in the middle" that we did last time.
Why do it this way? Well, we need to remember to make train reservations a whole lot earlier for Thanksgiving Sunday, and we really, really do not want to take a bus from the middle of nowhere. We did that two years back, and the "get to train station by 9pm, hang out, have Korean food, hang out more, get the insanely early/late train" plan worked out so much better.
