Perdido RPG?

I had a 30% off coupon at Borders, which I used to buy a|State (or, at least, I think that's how to transcribe the title), in no small part to encourage the store to continue to carry such oddities. Anyone out there read it yet? Is it just me, or does it read like the closest thing to a Perdido Street Station RPG out there? If there is anything closer, let me know.

I finished the Players' Book and am about halfway through the Guide Book for Sweet Dreams. It's not that it's especially Original. But, it does nail its genre nicely, with disads like Phone Addict (must spend 15 minutes a night with each member of social group, boyfriend, etc., and must call everyone when anything happens -- recommended starting equipment is a cell phone) and with enough odd background elements that I was hearing the theme from Revolutionary Girl Utena in my head.

Meanwhile, Vincent Baker says that he wants to see more games that break a player's power over the PC. This has, of course, sparked much commentary, and may spark some interesting games. mneme is trying to create one.

I expect I'll still favor the fuddy duddy conservative GM-fiat players-with-PCs style of gaming for the most part, but you never know. One of the games Vincent cites as something he wants to see more stuff like is Polaris, which I very much want to play, and I realized that the Letter Game pretty much fits his guidelines. mnemex, batyatoon, and I are playing one now.
